Can you bulk edit photos in Google Photos?

Not with the built-in editor — Google Photos edits one photo at a time. Batch is a Chrome extension that adds bulk editing (sometimes called mass editing or batch editing) on top of Google Photos: select hundreds of photos, then auto-enhance, filter, crop, rotate, caption, revert, or apply a Custom Preset to them in one click. The edits run inside your open Google Photos tab, so nothing is uploaded to Batch.

Can I save my own edit settings as a preset?

Yes. Fine-tune one photo in Google Photos — brightness, warmth, shadows, saturation, vignette, and more — and save those settings as a Custom Preset. Batch then applies the same look across every photo in your selection. Custom Presets are included on every plan and count against the same monthly photo limits as other actions: 25 on Free, 500 on Plus, unlimited on Pro.

Does Batch upload my photos?

No. Batch runs inside your Google Photos tab in Chrome. We never see, store, or transmit your photos. Every edit happens on Google's own servers, the same way as if you'd clicked the buttons yourself.

Do I need to keep the tab open?

Yes. Batch runs inside your open Google Photos tab in Chrome. If the tab closes, Batch pauses and you can resume it later from where it stopped.

Does Batch work on mobile?

No. Batch needs Google Photos in Chrome on desktop. Chrome extensions don't run on mobile.

Is Batch made by Google?

No. Batch is not affiliated with Google. Google Photos is a trademark of Google LLC.

Yes. You can revert any single photo using Google Photos' built-in revert option on every plan. Pro adds bulk revert: select a group of photos and roll them all back to their originals at once.

About 8 seconds per photo. A batch of 50 takes around 6 minutes. A batch of 500 takes about an hour.

Should I pick Plus or Pro?

Plus covers most people — 500 photos a month is enough for trips, albums, and regular cleanups. Pick Pro if you batch more than 500 photos a month or want batch revert as a safety net.

What if I close the tab during a batch?

Your progress is saved. Reopen Google Photos and you can resume from where you stopped. Completed photos won't be redone.

When do my photo credits reset?

Your quota resets every 30 days from the day you start your first batch, not on the first of the month.

Can I edit a whole album?

Yes. Select the album in Google Photos, click Batch, pick your action. Larger albums may need more than one batch depending on your plan.

Can Batch delete my photos?

Batch can move photos and videos to Google Photos Trash in bulk, the same Move to trash action you would do by hand. Nothing is permanently deleted by Batch. Google Photos keeps trashed items for 30 days, and you can restore them there during that time. Batch never empties the Trash.

Can Batch download my photos and videos?

Yes. Batch downloads full-quality copies of your photos and videos to your computer using Google Photos' own download. Large libraries can take a while and use significant disk space, and Chrome will ask once to allow multiple downloads. For a complete archive with albums and metadata, Google Takeout may be a better fit.
